As example of the good practices in the Bulgarian market of propane - butane gas activities could be present the company “KALVACHA GAS” AD, member of the KALVACHA GROUP - http://www.kalvacha.bg/index.php
In the beginning 1992 Kalvacha was founded in Bulgaria as a single limited liability company. The company “KALVACHA GAS” AD now has the image of the fastest growing company on the Bulgarian market of propane - butane gas. The company has its own production terminal with the capacity of more than 10 000 MT monthly strategically situated on the territory of Stara Zagora town - the geographical center of Bulgaria.
“KALVACHA GAS” AD has more than 200 rail cars that are used for the gas propane - butane deliveries. The company trades from its own LPG depot and supplies directly clients all over the country by LPG trucks.
“KALVACHA GAS” AD is dealing with more than 500 clients in Bulgaria. The company is basic supplier for OMV, Eko Elda and Naftex Group. Monthly sales are from 3000 to 8 000 MT propane - butane gas.

Other good example is Avtometan Ltd. - Sofia as the exclusive representative of the GN GROUP - for methane gas installations for injection and carburetor petrol engines, of the Italian company SAFE S.r.L - for equipment for methane compressor station (compressors, dryers, gas tanks, pumps. etc.) and of the VITKOVICE LAHVARNA - Czech Republic - for cylinders for methane gas. The company intensively works on reconstruction of petrol and diesel engines for operating on methane since early 2002 and for methane gas distribution.

Regarding biodiesel production and distribution there is significant growth last years in Bulgaria. The biodiesel production now is about 60 000t yearly in four sites in the country - Silistra, Karapelit, Dimovo and Brusartci. Under construction are some other bigger installations (in Ruse, Vidin, Provadia) and the expectation is in 2010 the biodiesel production to achieve about 250000 t/year. At the moment there are 10 bio-diesel sales stations “Tempo” in Bulgaria - 8 in Sofia and two in the country.

There is one biodiesel refuelling station in operation in Tortona (Piedmont Region).

In July 2006, the first H2 fuel station was set up by Eni in Grecciano (Tuscany Region, on the clearway Florence-Pisa-Livorno). The facility is the first station in the world which supplies H2 from renewable sources.
The Hydrogen is produced by 20 kW photovoltaic panels and three 20 kW wind turbines.
Currently there are no national regulations allowing H2 powered vehicles to run, therefore the station is used by prototypes.
